Posts: 2 21-Apr-2008 22:25:15	Looking for a non professional opinion. I have a 1880 Morgan. Ungraded. (Fine condition. *IMO) On the reverse it reads at the bottom,"ONE OLLAR." The D is barely visable. What might it be worth? A die malfunction? Posts: 26 22-Apr-2008 05:57:03	Hi Red and welcome! It could be that something happened during the striking process that caused the "D" to be less visible. It could also be wear on the coin, especially if the coin is in fine condition as you suggest. My guess would be that there would be no additional premium over the value of the coin. Chris

I just thought it was pretty cool. Posts: 51 22-Apr-2008 21:46:37	I'm inclined to agree with wikyva. Die grease can sometimes cause lettering to be weakly struck. Perhaps the grease was just in the D, so the other letters came out clearly. A friend of mine is a huge Rush fan - nice avatar :) Dan Coin collecting - The Hobby of Kings
